Missionary’s Message

For those of you who do not know, I do have a blog containing more personal happenings in my life here in South Africa. I have created it in the hopes of making you feel a bit more connected and aware of what my life is really like here in South Africa. My newsletters are designed to inform you of the ministry or work aspect of the mission for which God has called me to, and I am aware that that is not all that people want to hear about! They want to hear about the fun times, the exciting random occurrences, or even the life lessons that one encounters when they have devoted their life to serving God in a foreign country. So check it out!

Though I cannot promise it will be updated weekly…I do try.

Curriculum Development

My job of developing additional curriculums has continued this month. I have diligently been performing research and preparing outlines for two more curriculums, one on suicide, which was the more challenging of the two and another on character development, which will potentially be written in two-parts and be taught in two consecutive terms. It will be exciting to see how all of the most recently developed curriculums turn out once they are written, edited, printed, and then distributed to our students, and taught by our coaches. The process is a long one, but it will be well worth the wait!

Launch Pad

My Launch Pad has continued to go well. While we may be lacking in attendance, with only and average of 4 students each week, we are not lacking in students who have a hunger and an eagerness to learn more about Christ and The Word of God. The first term is drawing to a close and graduation will be taking place this upcoming week, but the students are just now beginning to open up and feel comfortable asking those questions that they have clearly always wanted to know the answers to. As such, I can’t wait for the next term so we can continue to pour into these young peoples’ lives and help them come to a greater realization of who they are in Christ and where they stand spiritually, so they can be challenged to go to the next level! This is one of those times in which numbers really don’t matter! It only takes one to be the future president of South Africa! I will continue to think BIG and the lack of attendance will have no bearing on my devotion to my Launch Pad class!
